monster

So I carved a pumpkin along with the Pepins last night. A tradition dating back to the early years of our friendship, 2006. Our festivities usually include toasting pumpkin seeds, some sort of fall dessert (pumpkin log or pumpkin pie) and a scary movie of sorts. Last year we watched "Salem's Lot"which freaked me and Melissa out way too much, so this year we kept it slightly milder with a few episodes of the old SNICK tv show "Are you afraid of the Dark?" (Which we do in fact own 2 seasons on dvd= great television).

Once again, Melissa always carves the exact same face, she calls him "Fred" until he starts to whither up and his lips get all pruny, then its "grandma."
Anthony's pumpkin last year was two faced, but this year fell into the slightly scary, slighly silly face category. The eyes creep me out a bit, but you can't help but giggle at his gap-toothed grin!
I was going for monster face...not really sure if I acheived that particular look, but I'll let you be the judge.
